ADD Diet Challenge Day 2

6 Apr

Finally, a full day on the new diet!  Mallow Oats cereal for breakfast.  Turkey sandwich on homemade wheat bread, carrots, strawberries and organic juice.  The sandwich had cheese, which Grace did not like, and did not eat.  Dinner was leftover mac and cheese, grapes and a glass of water.  She chose to have more yogurt and granola for a snack.  So far, so good.

Before dinner, we decided to go for a walk, that really wasn’t a walk.  G rode her bike and Adele dragged me along after.  My legs are painful dead weight.  Mama is too fat to jog.  There’s a reason mama wanted to go for a walk. Grace wanted to make sure she got her exercises out so she would sleep better.  Adele was determined to keep up with the scary bike.  I just wanted a nap.

On Sunday we’re going to a wedding shower for Chris’s cousin.  I called his uncle to let him know that we would be bringing our food with us.  Weird?  Yes.  But we just started this diet, Grace’s body is just starting to purge itself of all those chemicals.  If we let her eat and drink anything containing dyes/preservatives/flavoring, we have to start all over.  It’s all or nothing right now.  Yes, there are people that will think we’re crazy, but I don’t care.  It’s the way things have to be right now.

Which got me thinking about Easter.  Don’t worry, the Easter Bunny has a plan.  He’s going to whip up some marshmallows and make rice crispy bars.  Marshmallows are fairly easy to make.  Just really messy.  Then he’ll use an easter cookie cutter to make them into fun shapes.  The Easter Bunny is full of great ideas!

Toys are better for Easter, anyway!

Totally agree! We usually get her an arts & crafts filled basket and one or two candies.

Kudos to the Easter Bunny’s idea! And rock on Mom, even if people think you’re crazy.
