ADD Diet Challenge Day 5

9 Apr

So, the jam.  The jam tastes wonderful.  But once completely cooled, it got thick.  So thick Chris had to cut out junks of it.  Next time, will use less gelatin.  The cookies were a huge hit.  Which is really saying something considering Grace hates peanut butter and this recipe has one and a half pounds of pb in it.  No seriously, it does.

Chris did not take my culinary greatness to Grace’s school.  He wanted their lunch together to be extra special, so he went to the deli at the Co Op and got them soup and sandwiches.  Yay for healthy choices!  For dinner tonight we had an all-natural pizza for dinner.  It was delicious!  We also had salads and cantaloupe slices.  I did not try making salad dressings.  Once I got a good look at some recipes, I decided they were too much work.  Waaaaay too much work.

For dessert there’s soy ice cream (for me, from Trader Joe’s.  Cherry Chocolate Chip.  Mmmm) all natural fruit popsicles, or mini ice cream cones.  Lots of healthy goodness!  Trader Joe’s and Newman’s Own make delicious oreo cookies.  TJ’s is cheaper, just so you know, and every bit as good as the NO’s.  Going all-natural/organic can be expensive, but it’s all about where you go.  For the most part, we’ll be shopping at Trader Joe’s, for all other needs, it’ll be Target, the Co Op and Coborn’s.  TJ’s has great prices and great food.

Oh yes! I love Newman’s Own “Oreos”. I always tell people they taste like Oreos did when I was a kid, before Nabisco started putting fake crap in ’em.

They are so much better than Oreos! The chocolate filled ones are insanely delicious.

im addicted to Newman’s O’s thanks to my good “friend” jillian Michaels. I would recommend her book master your metbolism or listening to her webcast on itunes. She’s very knowledgable about all natural stuff. Im so glad we have this in common, it makes reading your blog all the better.
